Notes for TOYOX HOSES
Be sure to read through the following product information before using for the first time.TOYOX cannot be held responsible for any injury or physical damage caused by failure to adhere to these instructions.

Precaution & Notes for using a hose

Applications:
  1. TOYOSILICONE HOSE, TOYOFUSSO HOSE and all other TOYOX products are not designed or manufactured for medical applications (such as medical) treatment and medicinal administration) , nor are they subject to safety testing for this purpose. TOYOX is therefore unable to provide any warranty whatsoever regarding the suitability or safety of these products for medical applications. Under no circumstances should these products be used for transplant procedures or other procedures involving contact with bodily fluids or tissue. If the products are used for medicinal applications involvlng pharmaceutical or non- pharmaceutical products or cosmetics, the user assumes responsibility for all necessary testing and for consulting specialists and investigating the requirements of relevant laws and regulation.

Pressure:
  1. Always use a hose within its recommended temperature and pressure range.
  2. A hose expands and contracts according to its internal pressure. Cut the hose slightly longer than the length you need.
  3. When pressurizing, slowly open / close any valves to avoid impact pressure*1)
Fluid:
  1. Use a hose suitable for the fluid it will be carrying.
  2. Consult with us before using a hose for oils, powder, poisonous chemicals, and strong acid or alkalis.
  3. Do not use hose not made for foods to produce or process food products, supply drinking water, cook, or wash foods. Our hoses meet the standards provided by the Food Sanitation Law, Notification No. 20 of the Ministry of Health and Welfare issued in 1982 (except the item regarding N-heptane*2). However, depending on water quality, temperature, and other conditions, the smell or taste of a hose can get into water and spoil the quality of food or drinks.
  4. Do not use hose to carry fuel oil.
Bending:
  1. Never use a hose at less than its minimum bend radius*3. If you use a hose at less than its minimum bend radius, it may break or the withstanding pressure may decrease.
  2. Friction can be more of an issue when transferring powders and particles, so it is important to avoid small bending radii as far as possible.
  3. Do not make to many bends in a hose near fittings
Other:
  1. Keep hose away from exposed light fixtures.
  2. Do not step on hose.
  3. When cutting TOYOSPRING HOSE , ECORON-S HOSE,TOYORING-F HOSE, TOYOFOODS-S HOSE or TOYOSILICONE-S HOSE,steel wire may pop out of the cut ends. Handle with care.
  4. Painted hose is not solvent resistant. Keep hose away from solvents.
  5. Both ends of the following hoses are closed in order to maintain product quality. Make sure to cut (open) the ends before use.
    Items

      TOYORON HOSE

    l.D.32.38.45.50.63.75mm
      SUPERTOYORON HOSE l.D.32.38.48.50.63.75mm
      TOYOFOODS HOSE l.D.32.38.50mm
  6. Make sure to attach a volute nipple or TOYOX's fitting to a hose. If you fail to do so, a hose may burst.

Assembly Precautions

Fittings:
  1. Always use the correct size nipple according to the hose
  2. Round the end of a volute fitting as much as possible.
  3. When inserting the volute part of a nipple into a hose, do not heat or app]y any oil on the volute part or the hose. If the fitting does not go completely into the hose, warm the hose with warm water then insert the fitting again .
  4. Insert the volute part of a nipple completely into a hose
  5. Do not use one-push fittings or hose may burst or explode.
Clamp:
  1. Fasten bands centered on the volute part of nipples.
  2. Fasten bands with the specified clamping torque.
  3. Refasten bands when they become loose. Hose softens at high temperatures.
Other:
  1. Avoid the following because it may damage the inner lining of a hose and cause it to burst or explode
*Tightly fasten hose with a wire instead of a band
*Hit hose with a hammer when attaching/detaching a band .
    * Use a damaged or rusty nipple
  2. After assembly, permanent deformation*4 of resin may cause the following: fluid leak, loose fitting, or an explosion.Consult us about fittings and characteristics of hose material

Inspection Precautions

1.Start-up inspection Before Using a hose, check for damage, hardening, softening, discoloration etc .
2.Periodic inspection Inspect hose in use monthly

When the following abnormalities are found

The life of the hose can vary substantially depending on factors such as the physical properties of the fluid, the temperature and flow rate, and the frequency of compression and decompression.

  1. Problem with a hose around fitting---Localized stretch, curvature, leakage, or expansion
  2. Damage ---Large scratch, crack, or an inundated reinforcement layer
  3. Internal damage: internal swelling, peeling*5 or friction damage (such as when hose reinforcing materials are exposed)
  4. Other damage such as hardening, swelling*6 cracks, expansion, etc.

Storage Precautions

Storage of hose after use

  1. Empty any remaining fluids from hose.
  2. Store hose in a dark, well-ventilated place.
  3. Make sure that hose is coiled properly.

Storage of hose not in use

  1. Store hose in a dark, well-ventilated place with low humidity. Humidity causes hydrolysis*7 on Polyurethane hoses
  2. Do not pile large amounts of hose.

Disposal Precautions

  1. Products should be disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the local region.
  2. Products containing PVC can generate dioxins If incinerated at temperatures of less than 800C.

Terminology
1.Impact pressure:

When sealed water or air is suddenly compressed by an electromagnetic valve or something similar, the inside of hose becomes more pressurized and it may explode or fittings may come off

2.Item regarding N-heptanes: An inspection item to measure compatibility to fats, oils, and fatty foods.
3.Minimum bend radius:

Radius (R) when the outside diameter (D) of a hose is compressed 10%. at normal temperature (23C) (TOYOX's standard)

4.Permanent deformation: Deformation that remains even after its cause has been removed
5.Peeling: The inner lining and outside part of a dual-type hose will separate over time as a result of a weakening of the adhesive bond. Bending hose too often or using hose at extremely high or low temperatures can accelerate the process.
6.Swelling: A solid body absorbs liquid increasing its volume without changing its structure. Resin, etc. absorbs oil.
7.Hydrolysis:

A material reacts to water and decomposes. For example, polyurethane resin easily decomposes when it's exposed to water or humidity.
When this happens, polyurethane resin products crack and weaken. Therefore, they have to be stored carefully
